Further to the silhouette that GM shared last month, we just got a glimpse of the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt where the manufacturer shared an image of the signature lighting. Taking a different approach to the norm, the sequential front turn signal with LED daytime running light was shared on Pushing Pistons’ TikTok channel.
The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is expected to go into production in mid-2021 and will be the US auto maker’s first vehicle to feature Super Cruise – the industry’s first true hands-free driver assistance system for compatible highways.
So, coming up for Chevrolet in 2022 are two new Bolt models, the regular hatch and the new crossover EUV. We are expecting a similar, if not identical, design for the hatchback Bolt. The design is similar to the previous one where they have a blacked-out tail with the Bolt badge featured in it. We are really liking the shift to slim lights by Chevy as the big ones on the all previous models over the years didn’t give it that ‘sharp’ look.
Both hatch and EUV Bolts will be built on GM’s BEV2 electric-vehicle platform. The aforementioned Super Cruise will only be available in the US and Canada for now, as it will be compatible with more than 200,000 miles of their roads.
The dash gets quite an upgrade giving more EV info and insights to the driver. The digital dashboard looks great from what we see. Just by looking at the video you can see that the designers back home in GM have stepped it up a notch. So much so, it now looks like the designers spent little to no effort on the previous Bolt interior. Compared with the standard Bolt EV today, it looks like designers cleaned up the center stack and removed buttons, or organized them differently below.
