Jaguar only ventured to the electric vehicles segment a little over a few years ago when they launched their first EV the I-PACE in 2016. The I-PACE quickly rose to fame by winning over 60 awards, which includes the 2019 European Car of the Year Award – the first time in the 50-year history of the award.
Some of the electric drive technology has come out of the Jaguar I-Type electric Formula E racing car program and the concentric motors were developed by JLR engineers.
We’ve heard little about their next vehicle, but it seems the all-electric XJ will not be launching this year due to Covid-19. But we are impressed that JLR have introduced the I-PACE in the Middle East, where other manufacturers have not even dared show-off their vehicles.
